About My Blog

I have never been good at keeping a New Year's Resolution.  Because of my past failures, I typically do not make New Year's Resolutions.  This year, a few people (unknowlingly) inspired me to make a New Year's Resolution and to work toward keeping it.  The first person was my friend, Amanda, whose New Year's Resolution this year was to live and love more.  As the first part of a four-part series at youth group, we (as leaders) were encouraged to make a New Year's Resolution...and one that might be out of the ordinary and one that could be measured and kept throughout the year.  Another inspiration for this year's New Year's Resolution is the song "Live Like There's No Tomorrow" by Selena Gomez, from the movie "Ramona and Beezus."

My New Year's Resolution for this year is to find new joys in life - to live, love, and laugh more often.  In a culture that is so focused on things that we "need" and want, it is sometimes hard to see the joys that are right in front of our faces.  There are so many uncertainties in life and so many negatives all around us.  The power of a positive mind is extraordinary and I believe that with a more positive attitude and finding the little joys in life all around me, I can be a more positive person.
